The Forest Grove School District operates an afterschool program at Tom McCall Upper Elementary called the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC). A licensed academic support tutor is needed in the area of Literacy.
The vision of the 21st CCLC is as follows:
1. Increase student achievement and eliminate the achievement gap through academic supports. 2. Increase student peer & adult connections through social, emotional, physical activities. 3. Increase school & community partnerships that serve students
Literacy Academic Support Advisor
This position will provide academic support to approximately 15-25 students in the area of Literacy. This position will work individually with students to support their needs in Literacy.
Professional expectations:
- This position requires a valid TSPC teaching license with an endorsement in English Language Arts or Reading Intervention.
- Advisors will be in their assigned space by 2:45pm and/or 4:00PM to greet students and provide snack. Students will be supervised at all times.
- Advisors will stay for the entire time allotted unless otherwise mutually agreed between the staff member and the Site Coordinator.
- Advisors are committed and will complete the agreed contract time of 30 weeks. Failure to complete the required time may result in stipend reduction and/or termination of contract. If you must be gone please see the Site Coordinator as soon as possible.
- Staff member/Advisor agrees to arrange appointments and unavoidable absences with the Site Coordinator.
- Staff member understands and agrees to the stipend rate for Enrichment Clubs and an hourly rate for Academic support. If you decide to invest more time in your club/activity, know that extra time cannot be compensated.
- Staff member will turn in an extended day time sheet to the CLC Site Coordinator no later than the 10th day of the month. The time sheet will reflect hours worked (if your position is only one hour per day, you will write 1 for each day worked from the 11th to the 10th of each month).
- Staff member will be compensated on the last week day of each month.
- Staff member will keep daily attendance using a Google Doc attendance tracker.
- Staff member will implement the school behavior standards in the extended day program and report any major incidents to the building administrator and Program Director immediately.
